The Allegany County Public School System is proposing to offer a variety of 2013 summer school options including original credit courses, Credit Recovery Summer School, HSA Prep/Bridge Summer School, Senior Summer School and Attendance Summer School. Original Credit Summer School
Original Credit Summer School is for Allegany County Public School students only wishing to earn original credit in the following course areas: Physical Education #711 (1 credit), Health #481(1/2 credit), Financial Literacy #870 (1/2 credit) or Art #511 (1 credit). Students who have failed these courses are also eligible to attend. Students who have already taken this course and wish to retake it to improve their grade are ineligible.
Credit Recovery Summer School
Credit Recovery Summer School is for students (grades 9 through 11) who have failed a course (received an F).
HSA Prep/Bridge Summer School
The HSA Prep/Bridge Summer School is for rising seniors only who have not obtained their composite score required to meet the HSA graduation requirement. Appropriate assistance will be provided, and Bridge projects will be completed in English II (10th grade English), Algebra I and/or Biology.
Senior Summer School
Senior Summer School is for seniors not meeting May 2013 graduation requirements as determined by the principal. Seniors will be invited to attend this summer school.
Attendance Summer School
Attendance Summer School is for students with excessive absences as determined by the Pupil Services Teams in conjunction with the Principal and Guidance Counselor and is for ACPS students only.
