School Resource Officers

In collaboration with the Allegany County Sheriff's Department, the Cumberland City Police Department, and the Local Mangement Board, the Allegany County Public School System is proud to provide school resource officer support to our schools.

Resource officers work directly with school administration and staff to help ensure that a safe and orderly environment fundamental for learning to take place is provided. The school resource officers interact with students, providing mentorship to targeted youth. By being visible on a routine basis, the school resource officers take proactive measures to reduce the occurance of school-based violance and juvenile crime.
