Evening High School

Allegany County Public Schools continues to offer an evening high school program as an option for students desiring to earn high school credits. Evening High School classes will begin in September 15, 2010 and will continue through the end of May 2011.

To be awarded course credit, students must meet the requirements determined by the Maryland State Department of Education, obtain a passing grade, and have satisfactory attendance. Students wishing to enroll in Evening High School should contact their Pupil Personnel Worker or the Guidance Counselor at their home school.   All classes will be held at the Eckhart School four evenings a week.

Courses in the four major content areas (English, Math, Science, Social Studies) are offered at Evening High School.   In addition, individually paced classes may be arranged in Health, Family Life, Communication Technology I & II, Introduction to Computers and Criminal Justice based on student need and special circumstances.

The cost is $50.00 for one class and $100.00 for two or more classes.
