Art

The Visual Arts program in Allegany County provides opportunities in a variety of media and art activities for students in grades K-8. Students investigate the art of master artists and apply the principles and elements of art in their own creative projects. All students participate in a countywide assessment in grades 2, 4, 6, and 8, which aligns with the Maryland Voluntary State Curriculum for Fine Arts

Elective classes in high school provide students with the opportunity to further practice and develop individual style in a variety of media and problem solving projects.

Student work is featured in a number of public shows throughout the county and state.
